Dental crowns protect a tooth and restore functionality after severe injury or disease has compromised it. Crowns are “caps” that fit over the entire area of the tooth above the gum line. Generally, crowns support teeth that have received endodontic therapy or has had a large area of decay that can’t be repaired with a traditional composite filling. Crowns generally take two visits to complete, but in some cases, we may offer same-day dental crowns.

Crowns are also used as part of a dental bridge, which is a fixed replacement option for missing teeth. A natural prosthetic is created to replace the missing tooth or series of teeth, and is anchored in place by a crown on each side, bonded to the healthy teeth. Depending on the placement of either your bridge or crown, we use either metal-free or porcelain-fused-to-metal materials for all our crowns and bridges.
